Preparing for an online employer interview

4 August 2026 · 1 min read

Test your internet connection, camera and microphone at least a day before the interview, and choose a quiet, well-lit place where you will not be interrupted.

Keep your passport, CV and certificates within reach. Employers often ask you to confirm details or show a document on camera.

Expect practical questions about your experience: what machinery you have used, how long you worked in a role, whether you can work shifts, and when you would be available to start.

Answer honestly. Overstating experience is the single most common reason candidates are rejected later in the process.
